QUESTION -
Excepting for one word ('kā'), Pakistan's national anthem is entirely in
what language?
ANSWER
-
FARSI i.e. modern day PERSIAN.
The Qaumi Taranah also
known as Pāk Sarzamīn is
the national anthem of Pakistan.
Its music was composed by Ahmad G. Chagla in 1949, preceding the
lyrics, which were written by Hafeez
Jullundhri in 1952. It was officially
adopted as Pakistan's national anthem in August 1954[1]and
was recorded in the same year by eleven major singers of Pakistan
including Ahmad Rushdi, Kaukab Jahan, Rasheeda Begum,
Najam Ara, Naseema Shaheen, Zawar Hussain, Akhtar Abbas, Ghulam Dastagir, Anwar
Zaheer and Akhtar Wasi Ali
When Pakistan
gained freedom, no one even thought about national anthem. It was Jinnah
searched any poet among migrants in Pakistan but he found none. Finally in 11th
August 1947, he requested his poet friend in India Jagan Nath Azad to write national anthem for Pakistan.
As Urdu language was found Lucknow, India and was national language of
Pakistan, hence national anthem was writted in Urdu and this continued till
Jinnah’s death. Parties in power post Jinnah’s death were not in favor of
carrying forward anything brought in by Jinnah other than his name. Also,
National Anthem prepared by Jagan Nath Azad who was a Hindu & an Indian.
Pakistani government filled with hatred against Hindu’s & Indian’s,
rejected this National Anthem and was given to a farsi poet to form a new one.
It is also said, after partition Pakistan was looking towards Arab countries
specially Iran and so got his National Anthem written in Farsi from an Irani
Poet.
